I had taken a break from Free Realms because I was a bit bored with the combat jobs. So, I decided to come back today and see what all has changed. And, you know...I'm hooked again. *laughs* This game is like crack, for me.

I tried the new soccer job and had oodles of fun in my first match. I'm just hoping that it doesn't turn out the way racing did, where it starts fun and then gets ridiculously frustrating the longer you go. (I gave up on both kart racing and demolition derby but, in all fairness, I should give it another try.)

I also found tons and tons of new quests have been added. So, I'm going to have plenty of stuff to keep me busy. :D

Heheheheheh... And it begins all over again.. Good thing there's not subscription fee to play.. ^_~
Never heard of this game, but it sounds like it could be a lot of fun if done right.
Free Realms is an awesome casual MMO. It easily ranks as one of my favorite games because it is a no pressure, relaxed, fun game.

A lot of people don't like it, though, because it's too "kiddy." It's not challenging enough for them. But, Free Realms isn't about challenge. It's about exploration and fun.
Summer 2010. PS3. *sigh*
@arislyn Hmm, and what do you explore in the game?
@Fallout2Forever Don't ask just play it.
@xoaks I honestly doubt I'd ever play it, but I am curious about this issue.
It's free. Try it out.
Well, you explore....the world? I'm not sure how else to answer that.
Well, what unique things do you find while exploring?
So...you want to me describe the different areas of the world? You want me to describe the different dungeons? I'm sorry, but that's a bit much. If you want to see what the areas are like, just log in and play for a bit. As xoaks said, it's free.

Now, they do reward players for exploring. Each area has "hidden places" that you can find. Once you find all the hidden places, you get experience or a cool item that can only be gotten through the exploration track. (In fact, they have a job called "Adventurer" which levels by exploring.) Also, there are items that you can find as you explore which are part of collections. If you complete the collections, you get experience and, sometimes, a cool item.

I know that they are working on a new area to add...hopefully, soonish. If you look at the Free Realms map, there are already two or three places listed that you can't get to yet.
I wish they would over haul the combat. Not Fun.
I know. That's what's so frustrating about it! I love Free Realms but when I compare their combat to other games....Free Realms falls short. It's not very satisfying at all.

We need more skills or, barring that, at least more interesting loot! Getting the same item over and over in different colors just doesn't cut it.
I'm hoping they streamline the game well for PS3, but bloody FFXV will come out first the way they keep delaying it...
Oh man, say it ain't so...I may have to peep this again soon.
@Shademonger Check it out. Here's a list of all the new things being added in Nov - Dec. http://freerealms.wordpress.com/2009/11/02/november-december-updates/
@arislyn REVAMPED COMBAT.
Yes~
What kinda MMO is this? I've been hearing about it, but I don't have much info.
The free fun kind.
@xoaks I got the free part, but it your basic MMO? I noticed the classes sound a lot different.
Try it! Try it!
@arislyn Have you played FusionFall yet?
Well I tried to make an account, but my normal user names were already taken, never had that happen before.
@xoaks Yup! I've played FusionFall and I really enjoyed it. I felt like it was a polished, well-made game for kids. If my munchkin decides to play it when he gets older, I'll gladly pony up for the subscription.
@EarthboundX It's a very relaxed, casual MMO that revolves more around mini-games than the usual kill-grind. There's kart racing, demolition derby, a Cooking Mama-esque game, matching games, tower defense, chess, checkers, trading card game...all kinds of fun stuff.
I think I like FusionFall better. Of course this all depends on the PS3 version...
I like Free Realms better. I truly enjoy all of the mini-games, so that keeps drawing me back.

I definitely think that FusionFall has the better combat, though. I'm hoping that this revamp will make Free Realms combat jobs more engaging. That's my big complaint about Free Realms - combat gets boring.
