My husband bought me Puzzle Quest: Galactrix for Mother's Day. *Glee!* I'm so glad that I have a husband that gets me cool games for holidays rather than flowers and chocolate. I mean, sure....flowers and chocolate are nice. However, the blooms wilt in a week and the chocolate is gone very quickly. A game, however, I can enjoy for a good, long time (and replay so it lasts even longer.)
So far, I'm having a blast with Galactrix. It's feeding my puzzle/RPG addiction in the same way that Puzzle Quest: Trial of the Warlords did....but in SPACE! The only complaints I have with it iare that it seems to want to save after every, little thing that you do. So, I sit there and watch the "saving" and "accessing data" screens after every battle. I know that the game needs to save often but...sheesh!
That, and hacking through leapgates to get anywhere is getting old. See, I didn't mind all the random encounters in Warlords because I got experience and gold from them. Hacking the leapgates does nothing for me other than letting me move from one system to another. So, there's lots of work involved getting across 3-4 systems to make a delivery but you get very little return for the effort.
That said, I'm still having a lot of fun. :D
