arislyn played Puzzle Quest: Galactrix

My hatred of this game grows every time I pick it up. Because the game continually throws ships at me that are 20 levels higher than me, with a full 8 component slots, I'm reduced to running around the systems and mining so that I can get enough money for a bigger ship. (Oh, and did I mention that said ship has a weapon that bypasses my shields and halves my hull points every time it hits?) I never thought I'd have to gold farm in a puzzle game but that's what I'm going to have to do.

The thing is, my ship isn't bad for my level. In fact, when I can actually find a pirate or two that are within 5 levels of me, I do well. We're in comparable ships with comparable components. It's not an auto-win for me and I have to work at it, but it's doable. But, ya know, screw fighting things that are my level! No, no. Let's have quests (side quests, even!) that consistently put the player up against things ridiculously higher level than them.

I'm going to finish this stupid game because I'm OCD but, after that, I'm going to take it out to the nearest highway and fling it into traffic.
