I finally got around to heading over to the island and getting my racial mount. I must say that my little dryad is mighty impressive thumping around Ancaria on her gigantic, monitor lizard.

*laughs* My husband pointed out that it looked like she was straight out of Star Wars. I don't remember which one of the prequels it was where Obi Wan was running around on a giant lizard. But, he's right! However, I don't plan on getting my lizard killed.

Hmmm...now, I just have to think of a good name for him. I'm leaning towards "Wiggles" because of the way he moves.

Ascalon is Guild Wars, human kingdoms. Ancaria is Sacred 2's world :)
Oh! You're right. Duh. I'll go edit my post. :)
@arislyn - Soo.. You're logging a heck of a lot of play sessions for this.. You must be enjoying it quite a bit.. ^_^
I do! It's mindless fun. The crazy drops appeal to my inner loot whore and I'm driven to open the whole map. Must...explore...everywhere!
Cool.. I think one day I may have to check this game out.. Right now I've got quite a number of great games I'm already playing. But this one is now on my to-check-out list.. ^_^
Whelp... You've managed to talk me into this game. I picked it up at my local EB games. Haven't had the chance to try it yet, but I'm looking forward to it. ^_^
@fnook I really enjoy Sacred 2 but don't expect too much out of it. Like I said, it's mindless fun. You just run around and kill hordes of pixel critters. There's really not much more to it than that. To me, it's great for logging in and running amok gathering loot for an hour or so.
@revlazaro I logged in the other day and realized where I was getting confused with the names.

Guild Wars = Ascalon, the world
Sacred 2 = Ascaron, the developer
Sacred 2 = Ancaria, the world

I still had it wrong, but I was thinking of Ascaron.
Aaah.. those wacky German developers.. This souds a lot like the issues I found whilst playing "The Witcher".. Great RPG. Very wonky English translation (even in the directors cut edition - which was apparently improved).

In reality, all I'm looking for is a RPG to play on my PS3 - to just fart around in with friends.. Something I can play co-op online with a couple of people for a few hours, and not really give a serious crap about. From the sounds of it, Sacred 2 sounds like it would be a decent fit for that itch.
Cool legumes! :)

Heh...Sacred 2 actually has a couple of really hilarious quests if you take the time to read the text. There's one where you have to slaughter killer sheep that have gotten tired of serving mankind. There's another one where you save a heavy metal band and, once you complete the questline, you get to watch them perform in a cutscene. *laughs* There's nothing funnier than watching goblins headbang!
LOL! Awesome! I'm actually starting to like this game more and more, and I haven't even popped it into my PS3 yet.. ^_^

yeah, I was talking with another PSN friend of mine ( @spookygirl ) and we were saying how much we'd just like a co-op online RPG to play, and the only thing we could come up with was Sacred 2. It appears that there's a bit of a drought of co-op online RPG's on PS3 at the moment.
Yup. Sacred 2 is perfect for that. It's sort of the PS3 answer to Diablo.

I don't have a mic (still) so I can't really chat with you, but let me know what class you choose once you do start playing. I have a couple of set items that I can't use sitting in my bank. I've forgotten what they are since they're for classes I'm not playing but, if you need 'em, I'd be happy to pass them along to you or @spookygirl

The same goes for you, @revlazaro. I'd be happy to give you unused set items if you need them. :)
Cool! & thanks!! Didn't I read in an earlier post of yours, that you couldn't find a way of trading items with another player outside of dropping it on the ground and the other player picks it up? -- I was flipping through the manual before leaving for work this morning, and in there it said trading between players is done by walking up to the player you want to trade with and press the use/action button to initiate a trade request with the other player. (whom then has to accept the request on their end).
Yeah, you can trade with other people who are playing online. The problem I was having was trading between me and my husband, who are playing offline on the same console.
The manual have anything so say about offline character item trading?
Yeah. It specifically says that trading between characters on the same console is impossible.
I was just on the Sacred 2 developer forum. It says that as of the latest PS3 patch, same-console player trading is now possible, but you have to do it a very special way:

-You and your hubby have to BOTH have PSN accounts
-Within the game local multiplayer, login BOTH PSN accounts
-Player trading through the ACTION button should not work.
Ah! We may have to try it again, having learned that. As I stated back in old post, that's why my hubby quit playing. (We had originally gotten it to play together.) I haven't tried it since because...well...there was no one to try with. Thanks!
LOL.. I just realized I wrote should NOT work.. That should read "should NOW work".. >_<

Glad I could help.. Hope it works as advertised. See that.. Andy's bringing back the luuuuve.. ^_^
