I got my warrior up to level 5 and chose her discipline...and I'm thinking that my choice may have been a mistake. I decided to go with Adept which sounded like a good idea from what the NPC told me. Unfortunately, it's not so good for those of us who are still learning the "combat dance" that Chronicles of Spellborn requires for you to be effective.
You see, the Adept's first discipline skill is something called "Double Edge." When this is activated, if you hit your enemy, you do more damage and cause them to bleed. (Yeah!) However, if you miss, you smack
yourself and you start bleeding. (Owies!) So, in my newbienes, I'm doing as much damage to myself as I am to the enemy. Considering that there are no healing potions in Chronicles, this really, REALLY HURTS. I can't just chug and keep going. What ends up happening is that I spend a lot of my time running away.
Interlude for the Tale of Brave Sir Robin:
I decided to roll a spellcaster to see if I like that any better. So far, I'm having a much better time with her. Though, I haven't gotten her high enough to choose a discipline, yet. That's when I'll know if I really like her.
